India (Women) Won by 8 Wickets
The series moves to Trivandrum as India prepare to face Sri Lanka in the third T20I, with the hosts aiming to wrap up the series by taking a 3–0 lead. India come into the match full of confidence after dominating the opening two games with strong all-round performances.
India’s bowlers have set the tone by restricting Sri Lanka to scores under 130 in both matches, making the chases comfortable. The batting unit has responded well, led by impressive unbeaten knocks from Jemimah Rodrigues (69*) and Shafali Verma (69*).
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, have plenty to think about. They have struggled to find their rhythm and are yet to deliver their best performances. With the series slipping away, they face a tough challenge and will need to rethink their approach if they are to stay in contention.
With momentum firmly on India’s side, the pressure is on Sri Lanka to respond. Can India continue their winning run and seal the series in style, or will Sri Lanka rise to the occasion and keep the contest alive? The Trivandrum crowd is buzzing, and all signs point to an exciting clash.
India sealed the series with a dominant eight-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the third T20I, taking an unassailable 3–0 lead. After winning the toss, India chose to bowl first and delivered a clinical performance with the ball.
India’s pace attack proved too strong for Sri Lanka. Renuka Singh Thakur led the charge with an outstanding spell of 4/21, while Deepti Sharma provided excellent support, picking up 3/18. Together, they restricted Sri Lanka to just 112/7 in their 20 overs.
Chasing the modest target, Shafali Verma made light work of the total with an aggressive knock, guiding India home with 40 balls to spare. Her fearless batting ensured there were no hiccups in the chase.
The victory confirms India’s dominance in the five-match series, with two games still to be played. Sri Lanka will aim to regroup and put up a stronger fight in the remaining matches, while India will look to maintain their momentum and finish the series on a high.

Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka Captain)
“We haven’t played our best cricket, and we’ve struggled with batting consistency. We’ve backed this lineup for six months, but we need to find balance in this format. We’re trusting our youngsters and trying different things with the bowling unit. Dulani and Kavisha showed promise with solid innings, giving us encouraging signs. We’ll keep working on combinations ahead of the World Cup.”
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Captain)
“We had a great series, raising our standards and being aggressive in T20Is with the World Cup near. Really happy with our performance. Our bowlers did a fantastic job, they’re the reason we’re in this position. They’ve been giving us crucial breakthroughs, especially in the powerplay. Renuka’s comeback and four-wicket haul was a game-changer.”
Renuka Singh Thakur (Player of the Match)
“I’m happy with four wickets, but I know I can do better. I’ve had a five-wicket haul before, so I’m working harder to get there again. I focus on variation, especially for T20 cricket and big tournaments. My first over wasn’t great, but I knew I had to bounce back – that’s what bowlers do. The team’s support, especially the captain’s belief in me, keeps me motivated to push harder.”
